Hello AEU Members,
This email serves to notify you that nominations opened for the offices of Vice President South, Bargaining Committee At Large - North, Bargaining Committee At Large - South, Bargaining Committee At Large - Support Services today. Nominations close at midnight on February 10, 2024.
Mailed submissions must be received no later than 5 days after the close of nominations at:

Nominations forms can be accepted via email by the close of nominations. Please send scanned copies of the completed nomination forms to denesamoore@gmail.com.
For the jurisdictional offices/positions, members in the North may only nominate members in the North, members in the South may only nominate members from the South and only support staff may nominate for the support services bargaining committee position.
If you are interested in running for office and want to distribute campaign literature it will be done as follows:
Hard Copy Campaign Material
If you want to send out campaign material through regular mail, you need to send the campaign literature with the postage paid, to the AEU Secretary. The AEU Secretary will label all of the material provided and send it out to the appropriate AEU members in your jurisdiction within 24-hours of receipt. If a candidate wants to make arrangements to view this process, please coordinate with the AEU Secretary and the Election Committee.
*AEU VP North will accept materials and distribute them with the Election Committee.*
Per the DOL guidance on Conducting Local Union Officer Elections, a person need not be formally nominated to be entitled to distribute campaign literature (https://www.dol.gov/agencies/olms/compliance-assistance/publications/guide-for-conducting-local-union-officer-elections#ch6).
Electronic Copy Campaign Material
If you are interested in providing an electronic version of campaign materials to the AEU membership, please provide the AEU Secretary and the Election Committee with your electronic flyer no later than February 10, 2024. All electronic campaign materials will be posted on the AEU website and all AEU members will be noticed at the same time that the campaign materials are on the web.

Please note that all campaign material, whether electronic or hard copy, should be free from any AEU logos.
